Logitech Cordless Rumblepad2?
« on: December 23, 2004, 08:15:56 am »
Hi

Just wondering if anyone here has tried the recently released wireless rumblepad2s.

The question I have is in relation to using more than one simultaneously.

They work in the 2.4G range, but aren't avertised as bluetooth devices.

If you are using more than one, are you only required to use one of the USB receivers, or one for each controller.  Hoping in todays day and age it the first scenario.

The logitech site has no mention of it, nor has any review I've found.  And as the logitech site has no email support, damn if I could be screwed ringing interstate to get a phone tech who probably wont know the real answer anyway.

Any info appreciated.

The navigation on the Logitech site has some issues!

Click on the "Site Map" link and go from there to find stuff at logitech.

The page for the Wireless Rumblepad 2 is here: http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details/US/EN,CRID=2225,CONTENTID=9069

I don't see the answers to your questions though.

Thanks for that, but yeah, the lack of information on that page (and all independant reviews) just doesn't cover the issue.  Of top of not being able to email tech support for pre sales questions is really bad IMO.

Whats odd is the first version of the wireless rumblepad says it can support upto 8 simultaneously.  Doesn't go to the detail of required receivers though.  Though for that model I assume its one to one as they use the older 900MHz wireless range.

I do understand that they will run on their own channel, but it would be nice to know if only one usb receiver could be used to handle the input of multiple controller running on a different channels in the 2.4g range.  I prefer not to use 4 usb ports when I'm hooking up 4 wireless controllers,

They do have a connect button on them (disgused as the red logitech badge), so there is a slight chance it could support it.

According to this semi-official Logitech Wingman site:
