Smartstrip Question
« on: December 22, 2004, 10:16:03 pm »
Anyone using a smartstrip ever run into the problem of the automatically switched devices not turning on/off when the control device turns on/off?  And has anyone had this problem even after adjusting the sensitivity?  If so, did you fix it?  I'm gonna call tech support tomorrow, but in the mean time I'm curious what others have done.

Yep. I had the same problem. You need to adjust the pot. near the on/off switch., clockwise until the other 'switchables' turn off. Then all is well.  ;D

Yeah, I have some that seem to take forever to shut off.  Overall, I'm disappointed in the performance of the Smartstrips and am looking for a different solution in future cabinets (once my overstock of these is gone).

I had one that stopped functioning despite adjustments to the pot.  Smartstrip sent me a brand new one with a pre-paid shipping label to return the old one.  First-class customer service, if you ask me!

The replacement has worked flawlessly for months.

i disagree, they owe me money and have for some time..
they sent me the wrong powerstrip,a lesser model, then failed to pay me back the difference on my credit card.. when i call them i feel like im calling someones garage..
I bought my smartstrip like 3 months ago..despite calling them multiple times, and theyre assurance that "i was just looking at that" still no credithas been issued..
i cant be bothered to pursue it.. but all i have to say on the matter is that they have piss poor customer service and essentially, stole from me..
I HATE THIEVES..

that stink that you happened. i too have had nothing but spectacular service from them, i had one of the older non adjustable models which they replaced with the newer one for free and paid for the shipping of both items. since i got the newer one i havent had any problems at all, works liek a charm.

if i was you i would be calling them every day until you got the resolution you wanted, but thats me. i dont let things drop that bother me.

Same experience here. The first one I got didn't work for beans, regardless of the pot settings. They sent me a replacement and pre-paid DHL shipping label; the replacement worked as advertised.
