Problem with trigger button in Terminator 2
« on: December 22, 2004, 12:04:35 am »
I got my light gun to work on terminator 2,  but pressing the trigger button just moves the cursor to the position, it doesnt fire the weapon. I tried making my "game input" on terminator 2 to be "right mouse button" for 1 player button 1, but it wont let me change it to a mouse button, so I cant get it to let me fire the gun, i needh elp, thanks.

you can't set a mouse button in mame when the game is paused...

This is probably your problem.

But it still doesn't worth that well.  I kinda got it working by setting both button 1 and button 2 to fire...  I hold one down to fire and press the other one to aim.  Worked for a bit... but then bought 2 guns on ebay and hacked them.

thats my problem right now, i have to press "button 1" to shoot the gun and the trigger on my gun to move the cursor, i need it to be changed so that pressing the trigger moves the gun and fires it, anyone know how?

Just add button 1 whatever the trigger is mapped to on the controls screen. Then when you press the trigger it will do both. Terminator 2 and Revolution X aren't really that fun to play because you can't hold down the trigger and move the gun, you always have to press the trigger to get the now gun location. When you have tons of guys shooting at you your trigger finger gets tired really quick.

Apparently your current "right mouse button" is different from what button pulling your trigger sends.

So you need to map the trigger to mame's player 1 button 1, in addition to "right mouse button": tab, "Input (this game)", player 1 button 1, enter, trigger while pointing at screen, [enter, whatever other button you want]

How did you setup your guns?

Do you have them on a cab or did you just make a control panel?
Do you have pics of them?
