rectangle pushbuttons..
« on: December 19, 2004, 08:16:12 am »
hello
I recently found this forum while searching for making a custom controller.
Im planning to build a controller that looks like this.

mainly for beatmania style game as you can see.
ive figured out layout for electrical part. but wasnt able to find these recatangle buttons and wondering if anyone has link to dealers that has these on stock.

these are approx. 45~50mm x 30~35mm microswitch recangle buttons.
found some at Wico but heard alot of bad stories from them.. and betson's catalog page wouldnt load up, so couldnt look there.
thanks for your help!

Try Happs.  I think they have buttons like that.

Wow...  those buttons are expensive.  Are you sure you really want square or rectangle?  You may be better off just getting standard round pushbuttons.  If you aren't worried about price, then go square.  :P  I don't know how long they woud take to get to you, I've only ordered stuff from Happs that was already in stock.

They will be able to tell you the exact date they will be producing them in house.  I ordered some blue buttons which they backordered on me.  I called and they told me the date of the next production run for blue buttons.
All I ask is that my routers obey me as though they would the word of GOD!

Are you sure the Happs buttons are exactly like the original Beatmania buttons? I got the impression the Happs buttons are the buttons you typically find on Poker/Slot machines.

The feeling of poker buttons is not at all like the original arcade buttons. For accuracy Beatmania buttons require minimal travel, fast springback and very light push resistance.

I'm still looking for a supplier to purchase original Konami buttons as poker buttons won't do.
