SVC Choas board?
« on: December 18, 2004, 09:22:42 pm »
I think I already know the answer, but does anyone know for sure what board "SNK VS Capcom Chaos" was run on? This is the versus series with capcom that SNK made, not the "Capcom VS SNK" series. I'm guess it's on the same old board that all the SNK games are on, and if this is the case, would be a easy dump. But I'm not 100% sure.

As a fan of fighting games, I must say that it's a very subpar game, but it has it's good points.

Anyone?

Yes the game runs on Neo Geo hardware. It is floating the net somewhere. I don't know why everybody keeps saying it is a bad game, I thought it was OK and it is kind of cool how SNK got to make the game this time.

I think it's because you expect it to play like a Street Fighter game and it really doesn't...

... I don't think it's terrible, just not quite what I want.  :P

Does it play like a Fatal Fury game instead of Street Fighter or something?

More like KOF with SF sprites.  Good for a laugh, but not the best fighter out there.

Ah, thanks guys. Your right, for casual games, it's can be fun, and I had one of my favorite matches on that game. It's just not tourny worthy thanks to one broken character, but it's fun regardless.

The SNK fans seem to like it much more than Capcom fans, probably because they are used to the "not so forgiving" input in SNK fighters.

I'm a member of the Shoryuken.com boards, which focuses completely on fighters, but lean more to the capcom fanboy side.

Now if I can figure out how I would load into kawaks.....

Thanks for your posts everyone.

this game really was a poor effort on the part of the developers..the game has a definite unfinished beta feel..
there are hit detection issues, and just an overall sloppiness to the feel of the controls.

but to each their own.
my experience with this game at the arcade was not a positive one..
Enjoying the fruits of technological obsolescence one game at a time...

It's quite easy to hack up a driver to get it running in MAME.

I did it for a laugh about 6 months ago, and then got over the game within 2 hours, and went back to standard releases.

Just read the driver source files for the other Neo Geo games, and it's all pretty similar.
