How do I....
« on: December 17, 2004, 01:15:46 am »
So I looked and just could not find the answer so now I ask. (hopefully it turns out i'm not blind...)

As far as my cabinet goes. I have a hole in the smoked plexi to turn the monitor on, and theres a kind of rigged button extention for it. same with the pc button.  where can I find instructions for rigging it so the monitor. and the pc could be turned on and off via a single switch?

can someone point me the right way?
I miss Retroblast :(

Look at the Bits Limited Smartstrip.

http://www.bitsltd.net/SmartStrip/index.htm

It lets you power on everything plugged into it by turning on ONE of the appliances you select to be the control appliance.

And please, for the love of god, do not make mystery subject lines.  It's purpose is to let people know the subject of the thread.  It's not a box of crackerjacks.

I took my TV apart and spliced into the power button wires.  I did the same for my computer and wired them both into a Happ button, so now one button turns everything on.

I hacked a regular power strip into an "S-M-R-T strip" (not quite a Smart Strip-lol) using a relay triggered by the comp's power supply, so when the computer comes on, so does the marquee and speakers.
