P2 Button 1 Shoots P1 Button 1???
« on: December 17, 2004, 12:58:20 am »
ok- this is soo frustrating. Everything's been working fine w/ buttons. Now, all of a sudden, my Player 2 button is firing BOTH the P1/P2 button 1!  So, when I just play P1 and hit the 1st button, it works great. I play the P2 hit the 1st button, it ALSO fires P1 as well!  I checked the input settings- and neither are mapped to the same letter (I think P1 is set to Left control or J1 Button 1 or Mouse 1 button 0- or something like that, and P2 is set to the letter A).   So I delted the ENTIRE cfg folder out, and restarted Mame Analog+.  Same problem occurs.

Does this have anything to do with the siwtchable mice setting I changed earlier in order for me to get to TBs at the same time?
Thanks
D

Sound like a wiring prob. I know you said it was working the way it was ment to --BINGO! Either that, or I was attempting to say "before" but it was too many letters to type--, but I would check just in case. Has something came loose or it something touching something its not ment to?
Also, check your common wire, see it its hooked up right.

Hope this helps

I just remembered here-
I have the IPAC and OPTIPAC hooked up w/ 2 tbs.  Both TBs work as a mouse, as well as the 1st button = left mouse click, 3rd button = right mouse click. I'm wondering if disabling the P2 mouse button by disconnecting the wires will do the trick. Even tho this is how it's always been wired up, and is now, all of a sudden doing this, it's worth a shot. I don't need P2 to be used as a mouse anyways.  I'll post back and let you guys know- especially for anyone with the same problem in the future.
Thanks
D

Disconnected the P2 mouse button from the Optipac, and it all works great!
Thanks
