wico mounting
« on: December 16, 2004, 09:01:07 pm »
well I just got a wico joystick the one 8 way with micro swithces and I was just wondering what type of material these are typically mounted to should I go 1/2" or 1/4" or maybe use some type of metal mounting plate. I mounted my p360 in 1/2" but they arent as short as the wico. and im woried a 1/4" would be to thin. Also when I say 1/2" or 1/4" Im talking about after I rout out my 3/4" mdf control panel. thanks

I mounted mine straight to the bottom of the 3/4" plywood.
I wouldn't rout more than 3/8" deep into the MDF.
If you want them even taller than that, I'd go with a mounting plate.

Joystick mounting plate?  I was hoping to route out 1/2" plywood
to a 1/4".  Any others advise against it?

Original mounting was with 3/8" carriage bolts. They were for security, so they could only be taken off from the under side of the CP.

A lot of the games used metal panels, but some used wood. They will work with either. You can get varying lengths of carriage bolts.

Are these for mounting wico's with the shorter ball handle shafts?
