Newbie questions about Sidewinder hack
« on: December 12, 2004, 07:17:05 pm »
Hello Everyone.

I must say, this website ROCKS! So much information it's amazing.

I play alot of the more recent roms, like 1990+. ANything from X-Men (4p) to SF2, Marvel vS Capcom, etc. I run Mame32K w/ the Kaillera server so that I can play my friends on a network.

My question is this:

I want to make a basic Sidewinder controller for my PC,  and I was wondering if the USB version of the controller would work??  The Mame32K that i use plays the roms in a windowed enviroment, and I was wondering if a USB controller would work w/ MAME?

Thanks

If it works like a standard joystick in windows, it should work in MAME. You just have to enable joystick input in mame.ini (or in options>default game options>controllers since you're using MAME32)
