Original arcade marquees for sale
« on: December 09, 2004, 04:15:15 pm »
I got lucky and ran across a lot of 40 marquees and grabbed them up.  Since my wife isn't keen on me building forty machines, I'm going to sell most of them off.  I wanted to give people here first crack at 'em since this forum has been so useful to me...  I'll get some pictures up soon, but if there's a specific one you're interested in let me know and I'll get photo for you quickly.

I'm willing to work out trades too - there's plenty of stuff I still need.  T-molding, sideart, spinner, trackball, and more...

UPDATED Friday Dec 10 2:30pm
Here's what I've got:  * indicates pending sale

SOLD Airwolf
SOLD Choplifter
SOLD Time Pilot
SOLD Donkey Kong
SOLD Mr. Do
SOLD Frogger
SOLD Q*Bert

* Track & Field
* Street Fighter Alpha 2
* Mortal Kombat  (thinner plastic - not 1/4" acrylic )
* Exerion
* Empire City: 1931
* Forgotten Worlds
* Krull
* Killer Instinct (thinner plastic)
* Terra Presta

Track & Field (two)
Time Pilot (pretty bad condition - badly flaked white background $5)
Rush'n Attack
World Series: The Season (three)
Mat Mania
Ring King
Perfect Billiards
Fighter's History
Buster Bros.
Buck Rogers Planet of Zoom
MACH 3
Frontline
Punch Out
Hat Trick (thinner plastic)
Tag Team
Gladiator (thinner plastic)
Ikari Warriors
Terra Presta
Caliber 50
Quarterback
Moon Patrol
      (sadly a victim of spray paint overspray - I don't know if it can be cleaned or not)
Commando
      (this one has an adhesive brown paper stuck across the front side of it.  The back is in great shape (where they dye/paint is).  The paper can be peeled off, but leaves a sticky residue.  I don't know what is safe to use to clean plexiglass)

OK, I uploaded the photos to a snapfish album:
http://tinyurl.com/3r9u9
Also, I looked into UPS shipping, and I think shipping for up to four or five marquees will be just over $5, so I'll cover anything over that for continental US.  Just add $5 to the price of however many marquees you're interested in.

I'll send PM's to the folks who have responded so far, and try to keep an updated list going.

Here's some other marquees that I have:
Punch Out
Hat Trick (thinner plastic)
Tag Team
Killer Instinct (thinner plastic)
Gladiator (thinner plastic)
Ikari Warriors
Terra Presta
Caliber 50
Quarterback
Airwolf
Moon Patrol (sadly a victim of spray paint overspray - I don't know if it can be cleaned or not)

I've placed the marquees next to a yardstick for comparison.  I can get specific measurements if people need them...

The Buck Rogers measures 24 x 8.25

First round of shipping will go out tomorrow morning- I've got them all packaged up and ready to go.  I was slightly delayed by my first fatherly duty of getting stitches for one of my boys...  Nothing too bad, but definitely time consuming!

Here's the updated list.  Let me know if you want to be notified if something on the pending list comes available.  Some folks are looking at several, but narrowing it down to just a few when they order:

Here's what I've got:  * indicates pending sale

* Mr. Do
* Frogger
* Q*Bert
* Street Fighter Alpha 2
* Exerion
* Empire City: 1931
* Forgotten Worlds
* Killer Instinct (thinner plastic)
* Terra Cresta

Mortal Kombat  (thinner plastic - not 1/4" acrylic )
Track & Field (two)
Time Pilot (pretty bad condition - badly flaked white background $5)
Rush'n Attack
Caliber 50
Quarterback
Punch Out
Buck Rogers Planet of Zoom
MACH 3
World Series: The Season (three)
Mat Mania
Ring King
Perfect Billiards
Fighter's History
Buster Bros.
Frontline (two)
Hat Trick (thinner plastic)
Tag Team
Gladiator (thinner plastic)
Ikari Warriors
Terra Cresta
Commando
      (this one has an adhesive brown paper stuck across the front side of it.  The back is in great shape (where they dye/paint is).  The paper can be peeled off, but leaves a sticky residue.  I don't know what is safe to use to clean plexiglass)

SOLD Airwolf
SOLD Choplifter
SOLD Time Pilot
SOLD Donkey Kong
SOLD Track & Field
SOLD Krull
SOLD Moon Patrol

On the Commando Marquee with the brown paper, if you take a hair dryer to it, it will come right off. I had to peel a corner up on my Magic Sword marquee so I could get a grip, then heat the rest.

Go slow and it should all come off in one piece!

The marquees were sent out on December 23rd...  They should be arriving very soon!  Sorry about the delays.  Hopefully it's just the "Christmas rush" at the post office...  If they don't arrive by the end of the week, I'll refund the money...
