I finally have my Control Panel completed and my system updated to the point where I can enjoy it.

Hey, cool idea, using leftover counter top for your CP.  Saves you the trouble of laminating!  :)  Nice work...  now you just need to build a cab to stick it in.  :P

Looks pretty good, hope you get her finished off soon.  I was curious though, how do you use the upper two joysticks?  Don't the bottom two get in your way???

Actually, I just wired up the other two joysticks up this past weekend to give them a try.  The one above the player one postion is about an inch left of center of the bottom stick.  I found there is plenty of room to move and play all the 4-way games with no problem.  It makes playing Mappy and Burgertime a lot easier to do.

I did decide though to add a switch sometime in the future to choose between the two sticks so no one (mainly the wife) won't get mad if they accidently hit the other stick and mess up their game.

The next CP I work on I will probably go with the Ultimarc 4/8 switchables.

Okay, this is probably a stupid question (I'm just starting my CP) but why is one of the sticks mounted at a 45 degree angle?

Also, it looks like your other sticks are mounted with the bases in a vertical position. I'm worried now because I just got done routering out spaces for mine but did it horizontally. I'm using Saint's book and that's what it looked like in the diagram.

Now I'm confused :(

EDIT: Nevermind, it just hit me that what matters is what switch is wired to what key, not how the base is on. But I'm still wondering about the angled stick!

For games like Q-Bert, Congo Bongo, etc
