Novelty Trackballs?

Anyone know of a supplier that I could get a 2-1/4 or 3" trackball from, that would look like a soccer ball?

I'm not 100% sure, but I would start  by looking at pool table suppliers. I have seen several people use a 2 1/4" pool ball for their trackballs.

There are a bunch of links in this thread to novelty trackballs.  I didn't see any soccer though there is a company that will put a logo on the ball, maybe they would do a soccerball theme.  Good luck.

Those won't work in a trackball unless they are made out of acrylic, but they are made out of tough suede instead. You would need to find an acrylic ball that the design of a soccer ball had been laser etched on the inside or something similar.

I didn't find anything that was finished, and ready for sale as-is.

I did find a couple leads for custom printing in that other thread though.
I'm waiting to hear back on the feasibility, and price.

I also remembered that I know someone locally with a die sublimation setup.
I may be able to do some trade work with HIM to get it printed cheap, if I buy my own cue ball.

Thinking as I type here and this may be totally unfeasible but...
what if ...
start with a regular trackball
then tediously dremeled out a slight groove in a soccerball pattern
take some sort of epoxy (colored somehow) and filled in the grooves
once expoxy has cured, tediously polish the trackball

just a thought

That is possible.
That's basically how inlays are done on them.
It would be ALOT of work though.
