Calling all Aussies . . .
« on: December 07, 2004, 10:20:26 am »
Gday, I am just wondering what the Australian level of attendance of this board is. Im thinking of hosting a yahoo group for Aussie mame'ers, so we can trade cab info, dementions, suppliers, part vendors, reliving the "day" moments, etc.

Let me know what ya reckon . . . . . . .

Don't know if you've been there before but try:

http://www.arcade-80s.com/

He has a forum and has just put a MAME section in it.  Mainly arcade purists at this site but some MAME'ers.

so we can trade . . . dementions
Not an Aussie (just a wise-$ss),
But I think you mean dimensions -

Dimensions -     1. A measure of spatial extent, especially width, height, or length.
2. Extent or magnitude; scope. Often used in the plural: a problem of alarming dimensions.
3. Aspect; element:

When all is said and done, generally much more is SAID than DONE.

At least the Aussie won tonight  ;D ;D

Did anyone go to the Bumper auction on Sunday??

http://www.bumper.com.au

I managed to pick up a metal slug cabinet (see pic). I also had my eye on the Class of 1812 pinball machine, but it wasn't to be.

There was a stack of Aussie low boys.. alot of them in OK condition, but no memorable games :/ one or two street fighters but no TMNT, double dragon etc There were some nice decicated cabs like golden tee golf and NBA jam.
They've still got some dead cabs if anyone is interested in a mame cab. Pics are in the auciton list on the site.

I couldn't believe the prices the cocktails went for $800-$1200! Same for the 4-in-one games ie normal cab with the galaga/pacman/frogger etc etc boards.

oh, I'm from Albury :)

Love the shirty avatar boss7!

Your from Albury? WOW!!! Im from wagga. Didnt know there was auctions for cabs anywhere near here, thats soooo cool, where exactly are they located? - thanks. Im going to be creating the group tonight - will post a new topic announcing this once its done . . .

Cool. how are the locust's going in Wagga?  ;)

There are no auctions that I know of around here. Bumper amusements are in Sth Melbourne. I drove down there last Sunday. It looks like they've put up a lot of stuff from the auction, now at reserve price. They must have refused to sell alot, 'cause it all pretty much went when I was there (at auction) http://www.bumper.com.au

Not as bad today as yesterday. I live around the corner from a mall, and just walking 5 minutes around the corner I lost count of the amount of times I got smacked in the head or face by the damn things.
Also, im SOOOOO close to finishing my first cab its not funny. I just have to put the last coat of clear over the top then put it together. Im not wanting to spray paint with all these damn locust's swarming around - dont want bug guts stuck to the side of the cab.

Im sorry to say that I heard on the radio today that they are moving, unfortunatly for you, south. If your painting, PAINT NOW!!!
