I want to put a 12" Rockford Fosgate in a cabinet I am building but I want to know if this will affect any of the electronics badly.

I'd be most concerned for the hard disk (if you will be using one).

You can do alot...You need a good power amplifier so you can hook 12" subwoofer in your cab...
if you are using a general home porpuse amp or soundsystem keep doing it...just forget to use a Car amp..

Actually, all I have is a car amp.... I guess I am going to put the HD in a soundproof enclosure.

You will need to magnetically shield the hdd aswell, other than the vibrations from such a sub I would immagine that there will be a strong magnetic field that can damage the hdd

I had never considered vibration and it's effect on a hdd.... I just absorbed another important piece of information. Thanks!

Right! Good idea! I am putting together a cabinet with a 32" CRT Television and I will definitely need shielding for it as well.

I've been planning my cab for over a year now and I don't want anything to go wrong so I have to try to gather what I can before my project comes into fruition.
