Mame "Analog Settings" Page
« on: September 29, 2002, 09:21:34 am »
Does anyone know of a link with descriptions of the various analog settings?  I've got a brand new Happ 3" Trackball that works in Missle Command if you move it slowly, but  as soon as you start to speed things up, The cursor seems to move backwards for a moment and then approximately in the right direction.  I have tinkered with some of the settings(and got my spinner working great), but I'd love to know what these settings are supposed to do.

Anybody help?

Step down the sensitivity.  The trackball is sending signals faster than a real Missle Command can interpret them.

The default TrackX Sensitivity and TrackY Sesitivity for Missile Command is 20%.  Try stepping them both down to 5%, and adjust from there.

You might try stepping down the key/joy speed, too.  Even though not clear by the label, this also affects the mouse input, though not as much as sensitivity (if you use a mouse/trackball).

Try setting TrackX Key/joy speed and TrackY Key/joy speed to 2 to 4 also.
