Comments on Happ Controls service and shipping
« on: December 01, 2004, 09:26:30 am »
I just wanted to give a compliment to the service at Happ.  I ordered a some items, and the 27" Bezel and marquee retainer arrived in crushed boxes, with needless to say damaged products.  I called the next morning, obviously tiffed after paying an arm AND a leg in shipping, ready to fight.  They were so kind and courteous, however, and Erin said she'd get replacements out right away.  The new ones arrived a couple days later.  I met the UPS driver out at his truck, because I wanted to inspect the boxes this time (my wife accepted delivery last time, ...sure, blame it on her) and to my dismay they were damaged also.  Fortunately, I opened them up, and the products were unharmed.

While I was obviously satisfied with their service and response time, they need to seriously take better measures to insure the items are going to arrive intact.  I understand the need to "make a penny" these days, but they could actually save a bunch of money, time, and frustration by taking a few extra steps to better package things.

Oh well, that's just my thoughts, and good luck with your orders.

I've had several items from Happ (UK) and never had any problems at all.  I can imagine that those items in particular though ,may be more suceptible to damage due to their unwieldy nature.  Sorry to hear you've had problems, but good to know that it's all come good in the end.  Altogether, I think I ordered a selection of buttons and my High-ball trackball/plate from them...again no probs.

it happens and this proves that its a good company.  if ups damages it..they pay for it or happ is insured...thats why its not a big issue from them to replace... i was afraid my brezal would of been damaged but it came quick and looking good.

I have had a couple things arrive from happs damaged by UPS.  I think it is more that UPS drop kicks all the packages than poor packaging by happs.  Don't we all know someone who has worked at UPS that tells stories of how package handlers drop the packages marked fragile on purpose?

I think it's UPS.

I had a computer with 4" of foam around it arrive smashed.  It was wrapped very well and was still in pieces.

I had a control panel come in from UPS smashed.  Had a footprint on the box.

Maybe they have contests on just how far they can kick packages into the back of the truck from the road...

I guess I was so glazed over from actually receiving my package, that I believed the guy when he told me how careful they were.  He also said that there are specific box strengths required for certain size/shape objects, and that they (Happ) would probably be refused their claim.  Oh well, shows how naive I am.  Who cares, anyway....I'm going maming!!! :-)
