Wahoo! Broadband rules!
« on: November 30, 2004, 01:45:06 pm »
He he I just upgraded my 256kb/s connection to 1Mb/s broadband and now for some reason my ISP is providing me with broadband at 7.6Mb/s! Holy cow that's quick. I hope they don't realise.

Yowch! I thought my constant 190kb/s downloads were kick-ass!
Is that some kind of "broadband for business" package? Or are cable/phone companies in New Zealand the best in the world?

Well I get it free because I work for the biggest telco in New Zealand, Telecom. But if you were to pay for it it would cost $44.95 NZ for 1GB of download at 1Mb/s. I think at 7.6Mb/s I may need a higher download limit though, lol.

If only we could get 20 Mbps for $20 like they supposedly do in Japan.  But broadband does rule.  I don't think I could ever go back to dial up.

Ditto. Just got the broadband at home and am hockeying the bandwidth out of it. 1GB per day limit. I would have had unlimited but for a failed line of sight test. Am able to view the BYOAC forums at home finally, but my firewall at work has started blocking it. Win some etc.

I hate enforced limits on bandwidth.  I use up 60GB or so a month (all Linux ISO images and game patches  ::) ).

LOL - that's one of the funniest things I've ever heard. No offence Apollo :)
