Dragons Lair
« on: September 28, 2002, 05:20:20 am »
Hey guys, I'm going to an arcade auction tomorrow morning and just hoped that maybe some of you experts would be up at this time to answer my question before I go :D

There is a Dragons Lair game there in really nice shape, perfect monitor and almost mint marquee and CPO (all original). The only problem is, when you hit a button or move the joystick, the game shows some numbers in the corner and SKIPS. I'm thinking this the laser disc player problem, but any ideas?

I'm trying to figure if this would be worth buying or not. And this auction is so low-profile, it will probably go for around $400 canadian ($275 US?)!!

Thanks in advance for any help

It's dragon's lair... who cares if it works get it anyway...:)  To give you an idea of how valuable the cab is... just the contol panel overlay has went for as high as 200$ on ebay.

Numbers at the top sounds like it's in debug mode and it's displaying the frame number.  If not then the laserdisc is missing and although they are expensive they keep thier value.

It could be an LD player problem.  The DL LD players are a bit troublesome, however the disk is worth money.     You can always retrofit with Daphne.

Finally done all the auction stuff. This morning the Dragons Lair game went for $700 CND (about $500 USD) which I still would have easily bought if I didn't spend most of my money on 4 virtua racing sit down cabs! I just got done messing with them and they are so cool. they all work and can all be linked together. I only paid $450 for all 4 cabs, and turned my dad's garage into an arcade 0.o

MAN!  You Got a DEAL

well, don't know for sure, but 4 linked cabs are going to be MUCH more fun the a dragons lair cabinet when you can play dalphne.

I hear a drunk driving party coming up!

Yea man, I'm thinking of adding some cupholders in the middle of all the seats :D

All my neighbors came over when they came me and my bro working on them in the garage and one guy gave me that idea
