Original UK & Aussie Cocktail Cab Question

Hi,
I'm building myself a UK/Aussie style Cocktail Cabinet as second-hand ones are expensive and rare in Australia.  Someone has donated a spare original lid they had  (thanks Carl!) which I would love to incorporate into my cabinet  I have a couple of questions on the attached picture of the lid which someone may be able to answer.
1.  Does anyone know what the groove around outside of the top face of the lid is for?  I presume it originally had some kind of rubber or foam in this groove to site the glass on?
2.  The lid is missing 2 of the 4 corner glass clips shown in the picture.  Does anybody have a couple of spare ones I could buy, or know anywhere I can get some to match?

From your post title, i'll assume your a fellow Aussie - Gday - Dunno about the groove, but the corner clips I have seen at my local Bunnings Warehouse. Heres a link to a thread I started on this most excellent cab

Theres a link in there from CaptainPotato for a site a guy put up with all the measurements for this. I emailed him and he was quite frendly and willing to help/answer questions. Drop him a line and he might be able to answer your question.

Let me know if this helps. By they way, if you have any plans your willing to share, I would be most appreciated, as this is going to be my next cab build (after a replica of Junes Jukebox :d) - are you going to do your CP like the origonal or stick a box on the side?

I'm off to Bunnings tomorrow, glass clip in hand!  Yep, I've been onto that site and be in touch with the guy who has been extremely helpful.  I'm in the process of producing full build drawings for a new cabinet based on his original (with a few mod's to make in more buildable in my home workshop, but still relatively authentic).  These will be posted when they are complete and have been tested on my own new cabinet.  Probably in the new year. . . . .

No, seriously, I would love a copy of your plans once they are complete. I seriously want once of those cabs next, after I finish a copy of June's Jukebox, which is after I finish my first cab (only a week to go!).

Hello all
Has been a while since I posted here but I am still reading. In any case about a week ago I friend of mine gave me a partly gutted cabinet that matches you lid. The only things I am going to have to find for it is another lid and 2 corners lol.

So if you need any pics or some measurements of it let me know.

Hi Evil, nice find man! I was wondering if you could get a final few measurements for me, as I have most of the rest.
Im wanting to recreate the origonal CP. I need the distance the top and bottom are recessed as well as the height of the panel.
If possible, I need these measurements taken from the level of the wood - not the t-molding.

another piccie of the inside would be nice too showing the full insides.

If you could pm me your email addy I will email you a bunch of pics as it is too many to have to shrink every one of them to upload to the forums. As for the cp if you look it is 2 parts. One is the metal plate and the other is the plastic shroud behind it what part do you need to know the size of? Also there is no T-molding on this cab lol.

Essentually, the  dimentions I need is the W x H x D of the  metal bracket that holds the CP in place. The triangle one on the inside. Im going to have a go at making one. All I should need to do it is a sheet metal bender.
