Idea for a way to thank Saint
« on: November 25, 2004, 10:35:55 am »
Hello:

I've been on and off this forum for many years (lost my status when the message board software changed some time ago) :(  and we've all seen the many great things Saint has done for the Cabinet Building Community.   :D

I just read the newest post which stated that Saint was not eligible for the contests he has so generously given us.  That got me thinking... There has to be a way for us to thank him for the years of information (and goodies!) that he has shared with us.

Although it's not as cool as the things he's giving away, I'd like to see if there's a way to get together a Gift Certificate for him, that we've donated to.  I can start it off with $20, but I'm not sure where we can pool our money together or where we should get it from.  Does anybody have any ideas?  :-\

It's a good idea.

Another alternative - In case you hadn't noticed, there is a 'donate' button on the front page.  I just noticed it a few weeks ago after a year of membership.

well almost everybody has paypal here, there are currently over a 100 active members posting, so if everybody donates a measly sum of 2 bucks thats like 200 bucks and it's good... that can buy some cool stuff! :D

Hey everyone - I appreciate the thought, I really do! The fact of the matter is though that the site wouldn't be worth half of what it is without everyone who contributes. The best way to say thanks is to keep on being part of the community :) Save your money to buy arcade controls with!

Thanks :)

How about just saying "Thanks?" Thusly:

Thanks Saint, for everything you've done for all of us! I appreciate your hard work and selfless dedication. This is a great message forum!

Oh, and Saint, your generosity and kindness extends far and wide, and for that, I voice my appreciation.  For your willingness to put up with us, I voice my thanks. :)

Hmmmm, ive tried to use pay pal for things recently. I was trying to buy some stuff from Ultimarc.

As an Australian, I cant use paypal, because I dont have a credit card or because I dont have a US bank account. I even went to the trouble of calling pay pal in the US on the phone, but theres no way fro me to do it. Straight up.

So the best I can do is say "Cheers Saint, thanks for all you have done for us - If you ever find your way down here, I owe you a beer or 7 . . ."

Everyone loves JAMMA boards!

I heard Hero Games is going to be doing a Roleplaying Game based on the book and movie. Man, I can't wait to see what my stats are.

Well I will throw in a THANKS SAINT too.I bought the book (the bible)and carry it around with me like it is the bible. The thing I'm doing to help the board is promoting retrogaming in general by telling any friends and family what the hell im working on in the garage.Three friends are already lining up to get me to build them a mame machine too and or teach them mame as they put it.So my thanks is to spread the gospel of byoc and retrogaming in general.-Will
p.s.thanks for the prizes SAINT!!!!
