Marque Question
« on: November 22, 2004, 11:47:05 pm »
Does anyone know of anyplace that I can lookup demensions of original arcade marquees? I'm looking for one for one of my cabs and I'd like to try to find one that will fit without modification. It looks like I have 23"x7" (maybe 7.5") to work with, just incase anyone has some of these memorized.

What about checking out the Arcade Art Repository?  They'll have vectorized marquees, and if they have one that works for you, you can just scale it to size.....dunno, but I'm guessing you can get it pretty close, if not perfect.

If you don't have Illustrator, I'd be happy to scale it for "the distinguished gentleman from Ohio"  ;D

I'll check it out.

I might have to take you up on the resizing offer. I'll have to consult my resident graphics expert first. He might have the ability to do that.

I'd love to find one I don't have to have printed, either from eBay or the Quarter Arcade, but if I have to have one made, I'm cool with that, too.

I think he's saying that because no-one wanted to make him an Ultracade marquee.  :P

There's a slight difference, but yeah, it's way slight.

It's not like subzero's making an Ultracade to put out on a route.

Well...there's not much difference between me admiring the Ultracade look and then someone liking Ms. Pac-Man and putting that marquee on their marchine ya know? Most people model their arcade machine after something

Nah, you'd think so, shooting me vulgar pm's so no one else can see you're exactly what you whine about.  See, tep has shown to me that he's worth helping.  Mainly because I like his gun control stance  ;D

Tep, shoot me a PM if you need that done, and I'll need a place to up it to (like an FTP) if it's larger than 10 Megs completed.

No prob. thanks for the assist.

I'll let you know if I need the resize and I can provide FTP. (I don't think I will, our webmaster is pretty good with graphics)

Any idea of where I can get this printed? I could run it out of the color laser, but I think I'd rather get it put on plexi, if possible.

mdkay, I believe, can print it.  There was another site referenced around here, but darned if I can remember 'em now....lotta folks use 'em for side art too.

Mebbe check out Oscar Controls site - he has a listing for a few printing places.

Why don't you just BUY an Ultracade marquee? It is a part for a current game. You can order it from your local distributor.
Acceptance of Zen philosophy is marred slightly by the nagging thought that if all things are interconnected, then all things must be in some way involved with Pauly Shore.

In earlier requests for this, Paige, he wants the sign, but he also wants the TM removed, along with some other stuff, and I just don't get the feeling that Ultracade wants to remove the trademark logo and do other custom work for him.  That first part is the thing that just rubbed me all kinds of wrong....seems almost like asking for roms here.
