Australians - Cocktail cabinet wanted

I've just about given up trying to find a non-working cocktail cabinet in Australia to renovate, but one last try - Any Australians out there with one for sale?

You may find it very hard to get an original LAI cocktail, I searched for weeks before a vendor would part with one.  It was in terrible condition and still cost me $100.

Consider building your own, I'm in the process right now (well, plans drawn up - no cuts yet)

And at the price that some people are charging for "flat packs" here in Australia, I'm thinking about doing the same, a lot bloody cheaper.  Rather than trying to make $300 or $400 profit per cab flat pack, I'd be happy with $100 profit.

Hi, I'm in Adelaide too.  I've came to the same conclusion and I'm just about to get together with a couple of other guys to work out how to built one of these suckers.  Happy to share our ideas.

This topic seems to be hotting up in Australia, as Retro Gaming gets more popular and cabinets get rare, I guess.

I'm intending to build one as close to the original as possible. The biggest problem I can see is building the control panel to look like the original. There seems to be two different control housings (see attached).  One type uses what looks like a pressed metal housing, whereas the other type uses a flat piece of wood mounted at an angle.  I presume the first type was imported and the other type was made locally.  Anybody know?  Anyway, I prefer the pressed metal housing but the other type would be a lot easier to make.

This topic should probably be merged with my request for plans on the main forum.  Is this possible Mr. Administrator?
