Coin Reject Button Question
« on: November 21, 2004, 12:05:42 am »
I just purchased a 4 slot coin door on Ebay for my finished Starfighter cab. I want to replace the current reject buttons (4 red) with colors corresponding to the buttons on my cp for each player. The coin door I have says "Coin COntrols Inc." on the back. I tried looking for this company to see if they were still around to no avail.

Will the Happs Reject Button Assemblys still fit this door?? The outside looks exactly the same except the reject buttons are not like the Happs ones. Could I still use the Happs? Or is there another place that sells different colored reject buttons that will fit??

Also if the Happs buttons will work does the assembly come with its own bezel for the front??

Ya know thats a funny question.  I have a 4 player coin door from the same company.  I have colored reject buttons however my yellow is busted.  If anyone has info on this I would like to know as well.

Coin Controls was bought by several companies over the years. For a short while they were owned by Wells-Gardner (yes the same company that makes monitors). Then Wells sold it off to Money Controls who promptly closed out the coin chute and coin door line to concentrate on making dollar bill acceptors. Happ Controls is selling the remaining Coin Controls replacement parts. Remember that Coin Controls doors, chutes, and parts are all metric! The only replacement coin return buttons available now are red (Happ # 91-1113-01). Other manufacturer's parts do not fit this door. BTW, Money Controls also bought out Coin Acceptors (Coinco) and Ardac at the same time and did the same thing with them---closed out the coin acceptor/door product line to concentrate on building dollar bill acceptors/validators/card readers.

Will the Happs Reject Button Assemblys still fit this door??

NO!

NO, again. Happs door is American standard (inch) while Coin Controls is all metric.

NO!

Now I wish I would have spent the extra $$ to get a Happs Door.

It'll be fine.  In the big scheme of things you won't even notice once it's all assembled and you're playing it.

My cabinet has already been built. http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,24691.0.html

I'm adding the coin door for looks now, then later on allow it to be used with tokens and have a switch so I can either add credits from the CP or the coin door and disable adding credits from the CP.

My reject buttons are red. If I could find replacement yellow ones, then I would just buy colored LEDs and put them behind.

I really wanted to set it up so any one of my friends or family could tell which slot they need to insert a token into without having to add labels above each reject button.
