Looking for tekken 3 cab plans.
« on: November 19, 2004, 12:29:03 pm »
I'm starting my cab this weekend. Currently I'm using the Mortal Kombat plans, but I would really like to base it off of a Tekken 3 cabinet. Please, does anyone have these plans? And if it was a conversion, what was it converted from?

Looking for Tekken Cabinet plans

Almost 40 views of your post, and prolly 99% of the people left saying to themselves - WTF?

To anyone else who may be reading this, and yourself, PLEASE for the love of Rudy change the title of your thread to something WAAAAAAAAY more descriptive of the contents you want us to read.  Read the title of my POST here to see what I mean

This accomplishes a couple of things:

1 - People like to help, you'll get help quicker being descriptive

2 - People who are good at what you need will reply faster

3 - It won't frustrate someone who may help you in the futre by posting generically all the time

4 - People who may be looking for the same help can look to your post instead of cluttering the board with multiples of the same question

5 - Your post may quickly fall off the first page.  Being specific will help get an answer, bringing it back to the first page.

With that help out of the way, the place you need to go for Tekken plans is to Jakobud's site.  They are not "here's how to build it" plans, but if you want a specific cab, his "plans" are measured, the angles are given, and with a little patience, measuring, and reading, you'll DEFINITELY be able to build exactly what you want if he has it.

maybe i missed something (since i don't actually know what a tekken cabinet looks like) but i don't remember jackobud having tekken plans on his site.  is it essentially the same cabinet as one of the ones on his site?

Namco had a dedicated cab that looked like this...

...for Tekken but most (if not all) Tekken 2 and 3 machines are conversions. For example, the Tekken 3 they show on KLOV...

...is not a dedicated Tekken 3 cab.

In fact, it looks like a really bad conversion.  :o

Look for the Tekken 3 cab.

Look for the TMNT Cab

Those two images along with Jakobud's plans page listing should help you with what you are trying to do.  I dunno how far you were on the Mortal Kombat plans you had.

If this works for ya, please put "found" in your thread title.

Bigle, KLOV is a repository for games, so if you want to know what a cab looks like, they more than likely will have it, you just have to remember what the name of it is.  Some of 'em are so similar you just have to match up what they are.

For reference, the thread with arcade plans will have some lookalike games pointed out, or you can go to KLOV and then page through the pictures of cabs that Jakobud has plans for...see what they look like....and go from there.
