What do you guys think of this? Looks like someone is building mini computers into a console type box that runs a frontend for mame. Is he doing anything Illegal? Just curious.

J. :)

he's not selling mame, just a computer, a wimpy one for mame at that too if you want to advertise a computer that runs mame.

I don't know why people have to keep using Mame to sell computers.  It says no roms are included, but it sounds like it might already have Mame loaded up, which I think goes against the intent of Mame.  Cheezy ebay tactics!  >:(

Acutally there is a decent 1 gig pc with all the built in amenities being sold.  It's a speical compact design that resembles a console system. I think they sell them at tigerdirect for about 400 bucks.   That would be the way to go for a portable solution.

heh, I tried to make a websurfer pro (for fun not profit) into a set top MAME machine/entertainment center mp3 player...

But it was kinda slow, the tv out was piss poor... and there were other compromises/issues that made me abandon the project.

(the small form factor reminded me of Websurfer)

The shuttle small form factor case/mobos seem like they'd fit nicely in a cabinet (or in an entertainment console)

Also those cappucino/espresso micro PC/form factor would be cool (they're smaller than the book pc form factor)

ayup... so... yeah... uh ... move along there's nothing more to see here...

Ughh, what a piece of crap! Do they really sell it with MAME handwritten on the top like a preschooler learning to spell? Horrible.
