Does anyone have plans for the virtual music jukeboxes
« on: November 16, 2004, 11:15:37 pm »
Looking for the plans for the virtual music jukebox...anyone have them? Here is a link where a guy is selling them, but I want to know more stuff about the monitor etc and build my own cabinet.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6131545024&fromMakeTrack=true

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

That "guy" is Cyberpunk.

By looking at the link you posted, I was able to

1 - read a review on the plans
2 - from the review, go to the website of the plan maker
3 - read the forums of the website of the plan maker

Now while this may not be your intention, I'm suspecting the reason no one's replied to your post is that it sounds as if you're phishing for someone who has the plans...for what purpose, we can only imagine, as the only question regarding the plans you've asked (the monitor) are answered on:

1 - the e-bay auction you posted
2 - the review -accessible from the auction you posted
3 - the website - from review, from auction

Seriously, what is it that you are looking for?  I'm asking because, to be honest, to me it looks like you want to save the money and use someone else's plans.

I could draw you plans from the limited info given on all three things I've found from your auction posting.  Is that what you're looking for?  I won't do it, because it's his commercial endeavor, but if I can do it, so can you.

I was not asking someone to give me the plans for this....if I wanted these exact plans i would buy them. I was just curious what type of materials were used which I did not find in the review, but I did recieve an email from the guy telling me about the monitor AFTER I posted on the forum.

Glad you cleared it up!

I hope you can see how it would look, since you're giving us your questions about this in piecemeal fashion.  Asking about the monitor and "etc" isn't really going to help us help you.

The more information given in a post when asking questions, the better, as NOT giving information leaves you open for all kinds of replies, as you've seen.

When left to our own devices in guessing what people are looking for, much can be misinterpreted.

How about this for help:  I bet they use MDF, and of the examples I've seen of that jukebox, one chose to paint it, one chose to laminate it.  Particle board would work for this application, but plywood would probably be your best choice, and you could probably get away with 1/2" stuff too, for lighter weight.

When mounting it, I'd make sure to use a stud finder, and make sure it is securely mounted to a wall stud.

What else can we help with to make your jukebox?

You may want to poke around in the jukebox forum and projects, too.  There are some great examples of standalone jukeboxes, such as June's http://www.arcadecontrols.org/yabbse/index.php?board=10;action=display;threadid=20824.  You might find one you like better than Mamerooms.

I am betting on MDF as well, and I think it is 1/2".  I also agree with Drew that ply would be the way to go.
