I'm 17 years old, and building this for a state requirement which they call the senior project for Washington high schools. I am using your book and it has everything plus more that i couldnt find. Let me tell you i tried researching all this stuff at school and they block every site that has to do with games. You know its a good site when it's blocked. There are ways to get around it but thats not the issue. The issue is i cant use this site at school where i am given a huge chunk of time to work but and uncapable of doing any.
At school i have access to AutoCad and Rhino. I drew a 3D model of the plans provided in the book, but im just confused about one thing, is there an open spot in the back of the cabinet? I was looking at some other's projects and they seem to have a back panel missing. Is it? If so what is the purpose?
I have bought everything i need to start throwing this together. The last major item i purchased was wood (3/4" MDF), very heavy. I wanted to make sure i got all the research done and my questions answered before i actually begin the construction. Your book is just outstanding. I cant even describe how helpful this book is to me.
Im not some little rich kid that has his parents paying for this. In no way shape or form this is good for someone my age to throw so much money into. Im not going to back down because i know im the only one in the school that is actually enjoying the work on their project.
Here's a picture of what im talking about. I found it at
