Flashing Start Buttons
« on: November 13, 2004, 06:01:54 pm »
On my laptop when I play old Atari games the cap locks and num locks flash when you insert credits.  However, on my desktop computer which I am using for my cabinet the cap locks and num locks do not flash.  The laptop is a Win98. The desktop computer is XP with a USB keyboard and an Ipac.  Is there a configuration somewhere that I am missing?

There was a recent change to MAME that affects the keyboard LED's.  Add led_mode usb to your mame.ini file and they should work properly on your USB keyboard.  This also affects USB attached IPAC's as well.

Thanks turbo C.
Now I'm getting a weird problem with the IPAC.  The cap and num locks on the IPAC are opposite the computer keyboard.  When I turn ON the cap locks on the keyboard the IPAC cap locks goes to 0 volts and when I turn OFF the cap locks on the keyboard the IPAC cap locks goes to 5 volts.  (same for the num & scroll locks).

Also when I plug the IPAC in sometimes I get continuous C's or V's until I press some keys.
