newbie marquee question
« on: November 12, 2004, 10:58:46 pm »
This is one of those things that seems obvious but left me scratching my head when it came time to think about it...

How do you mount the marquee?  :P

I had a piece of plexiglass cut to fit the marquee area, and the inside of the cabinet at the marquee looks like this from the side (use your imagination):
       ______________
      |   __                     \
      |_|   |________      \
                    0         \      \
 <- front                   \      \
      _________         \      \
      |________ \         \      \
                        \\         \      \

The 0 is the marquee light, and as you can see, there is a small cut in the wood on the top for me to slip the marquee up into. So ... that's the plexiglass, but how do I stick and then hold the marquee graphic to the plexiglass? Should the glass be in front of or behind the marquee graphic?

Sorry if this is obvious... I just want to make sure I do it right.

Use two thin pieces of plexi. Sandwich your graphics between them.

People usually use marquee retainers
but now I have a question
the marquee retainer......is there something front and back to sandwich the plexiglass sandwich?
Or are you supposed to have the marquee against the wood frame and the marquee retainer in front of that?

like this
  _____________
|i|||||||||||||||||||||
 i
 i
 i
 i
|i||||||||||||||||||||

where the first | is the marquee retainer, the i is the marquee and the |||||||||||||||| is the wood

OR
is it like this
______________
|||||||||||||||||||||||

 i
 i
 i

where its wood on the top and the [ ] is the retainer (both a front and back piece
