Using LED's on CP
« on: November 11, 2004, 06:30:12 pm »
I have a bunch of LEDs that I could use on my CP, and I'm trying to think up a few ways I could use them / Incorporate them into my design. I would like to see what some of you did, and what are the most typical uses for the LED's?

I would think the common use of including LEDs on control panels would be support for the games that flash 1/2 player when credits allow.  Also things like the van indicator on Spy Hunter.

I just put two jumbo red (radio shack) led's inside my regular white p1 and p2 start buttons.
Alot of games don't use the keyboard leds at all.. but some of the old school games like most of the pacman types as well as the old atari ones do.

Vids:  Home built MAME machine, Crystal Castles. Arkanoid
Pins:   Williams Aztec (working). Stern Nugent (not working...yet), Williams Phoenix (major not working, missing parts.... )

Always on the lookout for buying 90's game with Ramps that need work...

I wired the keyboard num lock-caps lock-scroll lock leds to three radioshack bolt-type leds and mounted them into the top face of a trigger joystick.

I placed RGB LED's in 2 Wico illuminated push buttons and built a circuit to cycle through the spectrum.
