Building Cabinet Shopping Experiences
« on: November 10, 2004, 06:50:45 pm »
Hi there. I'm new to the forums and I should be getting my UAII Cabinet Kit tomorrow, and before I get it, i wanted to leave some feedback on my shopping experiences.

Of course, Mameroom.com.  Such a great place.  They were having some trouble with their cabinet manufactures, but everything got taken care of and Scott (the owner) is a great guy.  Highly recommend from a buisness standpoint, and i'll check back once i get the cabinet built.

Secondly, the controls.  Since i don't have any tools at my house ( just moved in less than a year from renting for a while), i needed a toolless solution.  Went for the slikstick classic blank, because i wanted to do the wiring myself (the only thing i'm good at).  Ordered on a sunday, got it on a wednesday.   Very fast, and a great item i must say.

The encoders for the trackball and joysticks and buttons of course came from Andy at Ultimarc.  Super fast delivery (2 days from England to Pittsburgh, not too shabby).  Great Items.

Picked up a trackball and coin door from ebay.  If you want good items at a good price on ebay, check out the user tornadoterrysdot.  Hes really nice, has a good bit of stuff and also is very very fast (same day) on delivery.  I got a trackball and mounting plate from him.  Free shipping on items when combined with other auctions.  Highly recommended him.

The nightmare comes here.  Ebay/Online Retailer www.arcadeemulator.net.  I got the address from google when searching around.  They have half decent prices, but customer service lacks severly.  I placed my order on Oct 27th,  and today (Nov 10th), still haven't gotten anything.  They told me twice they were shipping that day.  There are numerous complaints about slow shipping on ebay on their feedback, and they're also quite vindictive.  If someone leaves them a neutral for slow shipping, they attack the person back with a negative, even though that person did absolutely nothing wrong and paid them instantly.  Not a great company and I don't plan on purchasing from them again.  www.arcadeemulator.net is the address and the ebay user is www-kidsplaythings-cc.

Just wanted to let everyone in on the experience.  Once I get it built and stuff, I'll send some pictures.
