Cabinet rehab using Bondo ??

I've fixed up a few corners and little body work ( holes and such ) on some cabs using Bondo. Now, I've had to rebuild a portion that requires me to redrill some bracket holes, and my question is this. ...

Will the Bondo work crack or split or even fall apart when I take the drill to it? I mean, I have tons of faith in the stuff, but I've never had to drill into it .  

Wanted to mention , I'll be using a 3/16" bit.

Holes would probably be better filled by using a dowel and wood glue so you're actually filling it with wood.

You should be able to drill into bondo with no problem at all.  I love the stuff and have used it on numerous projects.  I have never had a case either where it has cracked from drilling it.

If you allowed the bondo to build an cure right it should be fine... that is, if you built up your big fills over time and not all at once. Even then, it will probably be OK. It might crack on very shallow fills, especially if it hasn't been painted. On bigger fills it shouldn't be a problem.

I've sanded, drilled, never a problem.

 And if your filling in a large area (whole corner), use BondoGlass... It's bondo with fiberglass strands in it.  I use it all the time in marine applications, it's super strong, and it will hold a screw without cracking.
