Could I do this with a PS1 hack?
« on: October 30, 2004, 08:22:34 pm »
Attach more than one arcade button/joystick to a single solder point on a circuit board?

For example, I have an 8 way joystick and a Ms. Pacman 4 way joystick hooked up to the same circuit board? Given that I solder two wires into the same solder mound on the solder point of the PCB and so I can just alternate like if I want to play Mortal Kombat I use the 8way but then for the Ms. Pac-Man I use the other joystick?

Yes.

Alternatively you could wire the second joystick to the first one to avoid having multiple wires attached to the same point on the PCB.
If there's bees in the trap I'm catching em
By the thorax and abdomen
And sanding the stingers down to a rough quill
Then I dip em in ink, and I scribble a bit
But if it they wriggle then I tickle em until they hold still
Lemme say it again
In my land of pretend
I use bees as a mf'n pen

I'm wondering if I should wire (simultaneously) the Ms. Pac joystick to both player 1 and player 2 circuit boards, for games like Ms. Pac-Man on namco museum that will FORCE you to use a second controller if plugged in, or if I should just unplug the 2nd controller whenever I want to play a 2 player game....which is more hassle I THINK
