Act-Labs New Gun
« on: October 29, 2004, 10:07:07 pm »
Act-Labs guns are out of stock and discontinued!  I need two of them and now they are all gone.  I shot an e-mail to them and this is their response

I need to purchase at least 3 more guns but they are discontinued.  Are you remodeling them and re-releasing the guns?  Please let me know if I should try and find some second hand or wait for something better.

Thanks

Response:

We might be coming out with more but in a different shell.

Body of e-mail:

- The PC USB Light Gun has been retired.  There is a chance the same product but in a different shell will be available in the next few months.

Maybe waiting is a good thing so we can get a cool looking gun for a change.

Hey, that's great news (if they release some).  I've been kicking myself for not getting a second one - AdvanceMame in Linux is now working with the lightgun (not with all games, but some at least!), and it should support multiple lightguns.  Perhaps I should shoot them an email also.

cool, i hope they use real arcade parts, like the happ controls 45 gun casing and cable mount.

the current space fazer design is lame and the quality of the plastic is subpar. i remember emailing them after buying mine along time ago and asked if they'll ever make one that looked like a real gun. they said, "in todays political climate it wouldnt be a good idea".
