My biggest suggestion is that you find a way to go modular with it, so that you can have a 270 wheel, AND a 360 wheel.
Having only one or the other leaves out alot of games.
How could this be done? Can in be done? Couldn't you play 270 games with a 360 wheel?
My plan is to mount the wheels on removable boards, so that I can swap between them for different games.
Happ makes surface mount wheels that have the optics contained in a box that is designed to bolt to the top of existing "non-racing" games to convert them.
And no, you can't play MOST 270 games with a 360 wheel because of the way they handle the input.
The spring center on the 270 wheels tells the CPU when the wheel is not being turned.
If you use a 360 wheel on 270 games, it sets center to wherever the wheel is when the game initializes.
If you then turn to the left, when you get done you have to turn back to the right to the EXACT place you started from to get the car to go straight again.
There are a few 270 games that are playable with a 360 wheel (ChaseHQ notably), but most of them don't work well at all.
