USB Console Game Pads

I saw this site on tss last nite.
http://www.sealiecomputing.com/retrozone/

Only problem is its 25.99 ??? for the Nes controller and the kits to do it your self are 16.99.  The genesis one is just an adapter and it costs 25.99 also  :(. I understand that its not just soldering wires together and plugging the usb in, but at least the kits could be cheaper.

Anyone know of any other usb controller sites?  Maybe one that shoes how to do it for free.
