« on: September 14, 2002, 11:34:39 pm »
Hi,
I have checked some Faqs and info here but I still am not seeing any kinda of clear cut ways to hook up a dc to my cabinet. anyone have any links to how to do this? also I know its possible to wire it to your controls, but will the interface still work for mame etc?? (like it does now)? sorry newbie..i want to add a dc to my cabinet and maybe ps2 down the road..any help is very much appreciated..

thx
Jim

you can hack a cheap psx pad then use that for dreamcast too.(psx to dreamcast converter)

all you gotta do is make a switch between your current interface ground.....you can get a flip switch from radio shack then just switch the grounds for you current interface to your psx/dreamcast interface...i am doin similer stuff..

i used to plug/unplug converter everytime i played mame or dreamcast.now i just flip a switch to switch between interface and that way you have all in one.

i will provide the whole detail in my site when i am complete but you get the idea right?

also what kind of monitor are we talkin here?
if its tv then you are in luck.if pc monitor then you get vga monitor and a vga switch box.if things are not clear then post again and i will try to explain more. :)

I've been helping to get a new "Consoles" section up on the site, but is hasn't been linked in yet.  I think this will answer most of your questions.

video cards have av and s-video inputs.

so look for one of that if you have a pc monitor in your cab at the time.

well,
for multi systems, you can hack pads for each system then use a swtich box(printer switch box).you get the 4 port switch box and you can have upto 4 systems.you only need to switch just the ground and you can solder all the normal connection together(all the regular contacts from each interface).

this should be easy but

EASIETS would be to hack a cheap psx pad then get converter for dreamcast,usb-pc,x-box,etc.

and the question is,do you really wanna hack all the controls? :P

x-box controls seems great pain and the system pretty much suck for the time being. :(

i can explain more if things are not clear yet. :)

I gave a couple suggestions for analog controls in the new console section (above).
