Red Ball Top Joy, Wood Panel
« on: October 18, 2004, 10:06:19 am »
Making final equip plans for couple of bartop projects which will primarily be to play classics....

What are the options (vendors) for 4/8 way ball top joys that are to be mounted in wood panel?

I went with a 4 way ball top from Happs for my upright completed many moons ago. Mounted through 5/8 MDF panel its a little short but worked out okay.

Was searching here for other options/recommendations from others.

Is Ultimarc the only resource for switchable 4/8 way with red ball top and can the T-Stick Plus be purchased with a ball top handle or must it be seperate?

I look forward to any and all replies.

here's one from betson that some people are happy with:

the t-stick plus requires you to buy the ball-top handle seperately.  the j-stick is also a reasonable alternative depending on your tastes.

I like the J-Stik the most, the T-Stik is good too.  Both of these are meant to be mounted to metal tho, but you can route your wood down to 1/4" or so and they should be fine.  The T-Stik plus has a slight advantage here, in that a 'long' balltop shaft is available.  In practice it is not an awful lot longer than the J-Stik tho...
