Ipac Troubles
« on: October 13, 2004, 08:46:38 pm »
Ok so..

I bought an ipac, 2 happ comp joysticks, 6 buttons per player plus coin and player start buttons..

I did the grounds and hooked everything up "proper" with female ends so i didnt have to solder everything and figured it would make swapping broken stuff out alot easier..

anyways, heres the problem... in game, it works flawless, 100% every button push and movement..

BUT in the "tab" menu of mame32, mame32k ect, it sticks when UP or DOWN is pressed on the keyboard OR the joystick is moved.. it just kinda scrolls forever basicly, now if i press ANY of the buttons, ie sw1 sw2 for player 1, it stops.. now i used the keyboard test program and found that it IS the relay or whatever just staying on once up and down is pressed..

ive triple checked connections, and im just baffled..

now the LED when all buttons are hooked up the LED stays solid from boot, no flash.. if i disconnect button 6 like is says, it flashes i beleive 11 times..

what i dont understand is, if theres a "problem" with the wireing or something, why does it work flawless IN GAME, but in menus or windows it just flips out... is there a sticky key thing i am missing or an option on the ipac to disable repeat in menus and or only have it kick on IN GAME?

yeah, anytime i think there's something wrong with my ipac it turns out to be some kinda short. see my thread here for example:
