Hello all,

It's been a long time since the last update, and there have been a lot of new developments.  First, I have recently partnered with an investor, so the money hurdles I've had to contend with in the past have been removed.  This has allowed me to concentrate fully on preparing the design for production, and the progress I've made has been immense.

You will be glad to know that the design has been sent to the cabinet shop and is being priced for production this week.  All the techincal issues with file compatibility have been resolved.  All that is left to do now is to bid the parts for the rotating mechanism.  Once that is done, we should have a finished prototype very shortly!  After a brief period of testing, we should be able to begin taking orders.  Hang in there folks, we're almost there!

Just to prepare you all for what is coming, these machines are a vast improvement over the cabinet on my website.  The cabs will feature all new, professionally printed graphics, all the best controls from Happ, a totally re-engineered, all-metal locking mechanism with roller bearings, and an all-new hidden storage area beneath the coin door for guns, steering wheels, etc.  We will be manufacturing a new type of trigger-grip joysticks to replace the Tron joysticks, and the units will ship with either a steering wheel or a brand-new wheel/yoke hybrid on the thrid control panel!

Once production starts rolling, expect to see many surprises down the line.  I am already planning the next cabinet product, which I promise will amaze even the most jaded arcade fan...

Thanks for your interest!

it'll be interesting to hear how the rotating panel handles long term abuse by real world rough handed arcade fanatics. i always wondered if a rotating panel design became loose and wiggled after a few months of play. seems to me it'd be next to impossible to make a rotating panel feel solid without clamping it down in each position. i look forward to seeing 1ups new lockable rotating mechanism.

it sounds like 1up really has good focus on starting his business and it seems professional and not a 'out of the back of a van' type of operation like some other mamecab builders.
