That seems expensive to me, being that it doesn't look like a dedicated machine and it's got some sort of bootleg board inside.

Still, for a man named dannyGalaga, it may be more in line with what you desire, and therefore worth more.

I'd really like to someday own a Midway Pac-Man/Galaga style cocktail cab that would play all the head to head cocktail games. =)

Pirate board (classic pirate from back in the day... at least not one of these new bad emulation ones) and a converted cabinet with cut artwork from something.

I wouldn't pay more than $100 US for this myself... $30 for the monitor, $60 for the board and $10 for the cab.  But thats just me.

Conversely if this was an authentic Bally/Midway board, cabinet, control panel artwork, underlay, etc.. I would pay up to around $300 for it to add it to my collection.  (with ebay resale value between $700 and $1000)

cool. so it looks like the guy is a little hopeful then. i notice no one has bitten at the $900 starting bid.

danny_galaga was kinda coincidental as it kinda rhymes with my last name. but i would like to find a galaga machine, preferably upright- such a classic shape (i dont even know or recall if THAT shape was what appeared in australia). defender would be cool too, but not so immediately playable for some people.

Bootleg boards aren't that bad. Many of them in fact are said to be more reliable than the original boards. The fact that they don't require secondary sound, power, filter boards is a plus as well.

I have one in my upright. You'd never know it though. The ROM data is a copy of the Midway set, so there's nothing "off" anywhere.

Yeah, but the one in the auction is mis-spelled as "Gallag".  ;D
