I tried to pick one up yesterday. I thought they might still have them in the afternoon since it had rained all day. I didnt think people would be out shoppin much. Went to compusa and they were all gone. It looked like they only had a few though in the first place. They had one row where they were. beside that there was 4 rows of the 40 gig.

I wouldnt expect these to be in stock.

That's the #1 time people go out to shop.  Can't do anything outside, so they spend it inside.

That counts as bait and switch does it not. In that case it's illegal.

I beleive "Bait and Switch" is when they advertise something that they never actually had, and then try to sell something else that either costs more, or is inferior to the advertised product.
Real Life.  Still a poor substitute for video games!

Most places will offer a "rain check" (pun intended) for items on-sale but out of stock.  My experience has been that they rarely call you when it does finally come in.  So, I usually call them every couple of days until it arrives.  Sometime they will even offer a better product a the same price, just so you'll quit bothering them.

Thanks for the heads up on the deal.

I made it over to the CompUSA in Columbia, MD around 1PM, and got 2 of them. They had about 10 on the shelf at that time.

Just got done hooking one up to my Xbox in my arcade machine. Good stuff.
 ;D

Perhaps I should have put in a bit more irony!

I almost got Bait & Switched (B&Sed...) at the local Compusa myself. They had wireless keyboard and mouse combos for sale for $19.99 after rebate and instant savings.

NONE left in the store.

I "Bought" one for $19.99, and they'll call me when they get restocked.

I went today, got a raincheck.  He said they sold them all the Sunday morning that the ad went out  :o

The people were real nice though, so I'm not angry/upset.

Wow! another Okie,  how many of us are on this forum?  If I'd known I was fighting another mamer for hard drives at CompUSA I might have been a little nicer...  or maybe not... ;)
