psx hack lag?
« on: October 11, 2004, 08:52:36 am »
some reason, i'm playing street fighter on a psx hack with compitition controllers and buttons.  I can't preform any moves/combos with out much effort and adjusting my timeing.  Is it possible that psx to usb controller is lagging?

I plug the same joysticks into psx mavel vs capcom 2 and i have no problems playing figthing games what so ever.

any comments, feedback from this?  i was gonna test it with an ipac but i sent it to ultramarc for repair.. please let me know, thanks ???

some of those psx to usb adapters are notorious for lagging.  unfortunately, its an adapter specific issue and can only be changed if the driver supports it, (which is not the case for the generic HID controller driver in XP afaik).

I have used this adapter with perfect results:

I got mine for much cheaper off ebay though.

A better PSX/USB adaptor is the key.

I used a $9.99 Kiky-joy for MONTHS and it was fine for everything but fighters. Once I moved to a IPAC based setup, I found that the parts were good, the program was fine, just that PSX/USB adaptor SUCKED.

i'm using the same one but the 4 player version

well, i might be doing ipac and just double wire it for ps2 controllers..
don't get me wrong, joystick works great...just trying to pull off moves in fighting games it doesn't like.  oh well..i already have an ipac2 and sent it back to ultramarc for repair...trying to get a ipac4 out of it

wish me luck

well, the one i have comes recommened from everyone that i know of and most popular that sells.

funny story..i was playing last night (just 1 player) and i didnt have much problem...i may still go with this ipac instead of psx controller as primary mame controls.
