Psx to Gamecube adaptors
« on: September 11, 2002, 08:34:22 pm »
I recently made my own arcade stick using an old third party psx controller. It's the kind that doesn't have analog. Does anyone know of any psx to gamecube adaptors that would work correctly with this kind of controller? I keep reading that they only work with dual shock controllers.

Would an adaptor like this work?

Ok, I went ahead and ordered the adaptor at EB. Only thing is, it doesn't work with the third party digital controller I used. It does work with the official dual shock, though (of course). In order for the dual shock controller to be recognized, I have to make sure that the analog is switched on. Otherwise the dual shock doesn't work either.

So I think what I have to do is hack an analog psx controller. Is this what your friend did, Snake? I bought a 3rd party analog controller that works on both ps1 and ps2. It doesn't work either! Should I use a dual shock, even though I hear it's hard to solder to? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

yeah, I'm talking about the gamecube. I used some obscure mad catz psx pad. When I plugged it in to the cube, it didn't respond to button presses. It works just fine in the psone though.

You see,if it didn't work with digital pad then the seller should let you know.

My freind bought from EB games i believe. He asked the sales guy if it worked and the guy said "if it dosen't work then just bring it back".Sorry to hear that. :-\

Hi,

I recently bought the Thrustmaster Fox2 joystick/flight stick  for the PS/PS2 and tried using it with my Nyko PS2 to Gamecube and PS2 to XBox converter/adapter...unfortunately the joystick for neither system.  It stinks cuz I wanted to use it for Rogue Leader.

Okay i believe there is ghost in my house  >:(

This might sound very strange but my dreamcast converter is acting funny. It only works with dual shock psx and ps2 game pad.Wont work with digital cheap pad.I used the same converter with the same digital pad over 1 year and now it dont work anymore.the custom joystick still works with USB converter but wont work with dreamcast one.

HOW STRANGE IS THIS ??? ??? ???

Here goes > >
My joystick works with USB converter perfectly.
Joystick won't work with dreamcast converter.
Dreamcast converter works perfectly with dual shock.

anyone GURUS here have any idea on what happend here?
