Black light for CP?
« on: October 01, 2004, 11:39:54 pm »
I was just wondering if anyone has used a black light to give there CP a different look. If so were did you place it. Now I am not saying I want it on all the time maybe if the system is idle. Actually I am not sure I even want one. Since I haven't started my CP overlay I don't really know if it will be of benefit to me at all. I would think the location should be were the speaker panel and bezel come together. However I am worried this might effect the game screen. Please a bit of feedback will go a long way in helping me decide! Thank's in advance all.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think BarontheFirst is refering to a bLack light not back light.  Ala Tron, the black light is recessed right bellow the monitor and shines over the CP.  With the right paint it gives a glowing effect.

Pardon me if you already knew what hey was talking about wrxh8r, for all I know you could have understood completly and were just suggesting something else.
If there's bees in the trap I'm catching em
By the thorax and abdomen
And sanding the stingers down to a rough quill
Then I dip em in ink, and I scribble a bit
But if it they wriggle then I tickle em until they hold still
Lemme say it again
In my land of pretend
I use bees as a mf'n pen

I'm thinking of sticking one somewhere on or near my cab too, although I'm not sure where yet.  I found a very small one at Parts Express if I remember correctly.

yeah i meant to back light with a black light.i was just curious if it would work.like if you put a black light behind the marquee.that way only the image would be effected so that it glowed without lighting up anything else.

Yes, the Tron had at least one blacklight on the CP, though I don't think it was under it.

Beware of interference. I stuck a cold cathode under my CP once and it freaked out the hacked keyboard. Fluorescent lights tend to give off a lot of junk, so be careful or the controls will not act right.
