DOS w/ sound cards?
« on: October 01, 2004, 04:36:05 pm »
DAMMIT!

Can someone please help me?  I'm running DOS (windows 98, booting to dos), advancemame 0.69, and have the following sound cards:

ESS Solo PCI Audio (built into motherboard)
Prowler 4.1 DSP card from MadDog Multimedia

I've tried running with the maddog card in and out, I get the same results with both sound cards...sounds play in Windows, I can get the drivers loaded into DOS and sounds play using sbplay.exe, but when I run AdvanceMame, I can't get any sound with my games...I've tried setting the audio device setting in advmame.rc to every setting available, to no avail.  Both of these cards should be SB-compatible, and SBPlay works, so why not Mame?  Any ideas/suggestions?  Thanks in advance.
