japanese cab control panels
« on: September 21, 2004, 04:38:00 pm »
a few people have expressed an interest in new metal control panels for their taito egrets..

I am going to start prototyping some laser cut aluminum panels for this purpose, initially i'll just be doing a small run of2 player 6 button / joystick versions, then probably moving on to versions to accomodate trackballs and other peripherals too...

If anyone's interested please let me know so I can get some initial numbers together, and if anyone else is in need of a panel for an existing japanese "sit down" (astro city etc.) cab let me know and i'll see what I can do..

This project is in its early tages, so may take a while to get off the ground, but I will be moving ahead with this soon!..

thanks all..

ideally I can only do runs of "production line" cabs.. I know very little about US cabs, so I was sticking to "sit down" cabs as I can't do one offs.....

Are you just talking about the steel plates or the entire CP housing? I once saw a guy redo the whole CP and I thought it was an awsome idea bu too hard for someone without the skills or connections (such as myself) to pull off. Of course I need to actually FIND and Egret first of course.

Heres a pic:

If you can do them let me know, I had a sheet metal place try to make me some but the edges are not smooth.

Later,

I'm gonna do the egret panels first, to do any others will require the loan of a panel , or a scan (which would be hard to do)

I can only do the panels, recreating something like that cab panel is beyond my means..
