Good *free* program to draw plans?

I know CAD is quite expensive and involved.  Does anyone have any recommendations as to a program I could download to make semi-decent plans for my cab?  I have the idea worked out on paper but I'd like something a little more readable thhan my chicken scratch...  Thanks!

You could download a free 30 day trial period of some of the popular image software like adobe photoshop or jasc paintshop pro.  You can turn on a grid and draw lines pretty easily.  Check out their websites for the download.

If you want to scan and email your drawings I can draw them up in Autocad for ya.

Just download the trial for Illustrator and remember to turn on the Rulers.

Wow, thanks for the offer  :o - once I get them finalized if I can't figure something out on my own I might just do that.  Thanks!  ;D

Well if you are running a real operating system (as opposed to ms-windows) you can always use xfig ( there is a windows port called winfig).  The nice thing about xifg for doing plans is that you have the option of editing the sizes and positions objects by typing in the values.  Very nice for geting things exact ranther than trying to positon the mouse exactly where you want

I have a panel template in xfig that has buttons and joysticks on it

DIA - Available for Windows and GNU/Linux
I use it, and I like it a lot, did my control panel with it.
