What games are playable on my Pentium?
« on: September 18, 2004, 09:06:43 pm »
Does anyone know a site that can tell me roughly what games can be played on a Gateway Pentium?  I just got one for free ;D and I'm thinking of making a "classic games only" cab (you know, pac-man, froger, donkey kong, etc.).

I'm pretty sure I will be OK for just those games but before I make my CP layout I was curious as to whether something like Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat or Dark Stalkers will run on it.  Anyone know?  Thanks!

Mortal Kombat requires some serious cahones to run.

If you're looking to run classics, give VAntAGE a try.

Sorry, don't know about the Gateways.  However, for your reference, the oldest Cpu's I've used for Mame cabs are a Celeron 300 and AMD K6-450.  I tried them on a couple of old motherboards and relatively low ram.
Except for a few games, these were able to play roms upto approximately 1990 era.

For your info.

Thanks!  I guess I will just stick to the classics because if I can't play Street Fighter  :( or the Capcom fighters using my computer, I will probably just put a few buttons on my CP (3-4)...
