Anyone deal with Arcadeshop.com ?
« on: September 18, 2004, 04:37:09 pm »
I wanted to get started on restoring this Missile Command cab and he has the parts I need - rollers, bearings, CPO, side art, but the phone just rings and the email doesn't get answered.  Now it could just be he doesn't work on the weekends ( can't blame him ), was just wondering if anyone knows about this business..

I had e-mailed with an inquiry about some cocktail overlays and he responded in about a day or so.  I believe that I e-mailed on a Saturday and got a reply on Monday.  I also know that OSCAR used them for a couple of things on his Centipede restoration.

I ordered some trackball parts from them, you're best bet is to call them on monday... when I did get email responded to the response was "yep, got that stuff, call to order it"...

They were good to work with but wasn't really much point in sending the e-mail!

Yes, I've had a number of dealings with Steven at Arcadeshop.  I'm fairly certain it is his full time job, and they may not be open on the weekends.  I've only ever called them during regular business hours during the week.  And then you are more likely to get a busy signal rather than not get any answer.  :)

It doesn't hurt to shoot them a quick email to check stock on what you want to order prior to calling, if you just want to save yourself a phone call.  It's not uncommon for some items to not be in stock and they don't keep stock status online.

I have ordered from them in the past without any problems.  I did email him on Thursday with a question about some side art but I have yet to receive a reply, maybe he's on vacation.

I've had very poor communications with them when relying strictly by email. Some emails never got answered, while others were answered within 48hrs, while still others were replied to like a month or two later!

However, having PHONED in an order, it was no problem. Order got shipped real quick. My only complaint was the lady taking my order on the phone sounded like she'd rather be somewhere else doing something else than taking my order. I understand these kinds of businesses are small operations run out of homes, but still, show some courtesy and at least pretend to be interested. Sheesh. A little professionalism can go a long way. ::)
